Post-Wedding Bliss

Hi everyone!

We're back. We're tired, jet-lagged, not ready for work tomorrow, and still reeling from the whirlwind of activities, but we're back. In a nutshell: The wedding was gorgeous and went off with no major catastrophes and plenty of lovely memories. The honeymoon in St. Lucia was an adventure, though also romantic and beautiful. The California reception yesterday was festive and fun with people we didn't see at the wedding.

I managed to be married for almost a full week before earning my first hairbrushing. :-) I'll spare you the gory details, but suffice to say that the St. Lucian sun is a bit stronger than I thought.

Thank you for all the good wishes and notes over the last month. The experience has been wonderful, but we are more than content to settle into married life without the extra drama of wedding-, travel-, and reception-planning. I'm especially looking forward to getting back into online life and having the time to read blogs and post here.

Congratulations, Iris and M!

And Iris, please, take care of yourself in the sun! I'm sure you can dream up more creative ways to get in trouble.

Congrats! Glad all went went. Hope you didn't get too red at the beach... or, guess... after getting back from the beach.

enjoy married life. and yes, things are even better once the frantic pace of the wedding/honeymoon stuff has passed.

and if you haven't already (i'm sure you *have* since you *must* be more responsible than i!), combining thank you notes and holiday cards is a great way to get both of those sent out, since it combines two tasks that might be just a little tedious to some people. of course, maybe you *enjoy* writing out dozens of thank you notes, and got those out before you even went on your honeymoon....

*waving to everyone*

I am actually a bit chagrined about getting burned yet again and I want to reassure you all that I DO understand the dangers and I don't seek it out.

JA, thanks for the tip about the thank you notes. I did manage to get a batch written and sent before the wedding, but there's a much larger pile waiting to be written. And I would absolutely combine them with Christmas cards except that I've already informed everyone I know that I'm not doing Christmas cards (or gifts) this year. It's just too much on top of the wedding and receptions.

It is good to be back and I have some posts brewing in the back of my head, so I promise to write more soon!
