Anyway, I need help on a more serious front. M and I have a dear friend who has agreed to be our iPod DJ for the reception, but I have to help her make up the playlist. I'm seeking ideas for the dinner playlist and the after-dinner-dancing playlist. Dinner music will be Michael Buble/ Frank Sinatra/ jazzy-ish. After dinner, anything goes.
We need to fill up several hours with music, so I'd appreciate any and all ideas. sparkle suggested that we take our top ten or twenty favorites and make them into an iTunes playlist, so maybe we can do that.

We too are dealing with this for our reception. There are websites (use google) you can go to that will have lists and lists of songs for different parts of the reception -- love songs for slow dancing, party songs for regular dancing.
Are you having a father/daughter dance? We're using the song "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman for that particular dance. He is a Christian artist but the song itself has no Christian reference.
Just got around to checking your blog... I should dig around and see if we still have the playlist from our wedding.
One song that I really like (and where I got the name of my blog) is "Breathin'" by the Asylum Street Spankers. Here's a link to them singing it.
I'll ask W if she can remember any of the other songs we played. I *do* remember that we had pretty much everyone at the wedding on the dance floor at various points (ranging in age from 18 months to 84 years old).
