Some of you know that I am something of a
bumpersticker connoisseur. So I was delighted and astonished today to see TWO cars sporting a
bumpersticker I'd never seen. It is a black outline of a paddle with the words
Asylum St. Spankers on it ("Asylum" and "St" are in small letters on the handle, "
Spankers" in large letters on the face of the paddle). I'm tickled to relay that both cars were bright red in color, but I am puzzled as to the genesis of the sticker. Does anyone know whence this comes?

They are apparently a "Ten member band from Austin, Texas playing a unique blend of swing, jazz, and country." (from their website)
If you go into the store on their website, you can apparently buy a pair of red panties with the paddle and the words "Spank Me" on the seat.
I just checked--there's no option to rush order them, darn it! How perfect would they be for Shadow Lane this weekend? Course, *some* people might see that as taunting...
Those panties ARE cool. And the music doesn't sound bad either. :-)
So nice to finally get to stop by the new blog! Looks like the beginning of a great blog.
Speaking of bumper stickers--
I don't ordinarily read the comic strip "Mallard Fillmore", but it caught my eye last week. The whole strip was just one panel set up like a bumper sticker, and it read:
IF YOU CAN'T READ THIS --
SPANK A TEACHER
Hi, Iris. Hope you don't mind my lurking on your blog- I've been a lurker on the PB for quite some time, and I read Sparkle's pages as well.
Anyway, the Asylum Street Spankers are an excellent band who put on a really fun, dynamic show. I find it impossible to discuss them without blushing, however!
Tell Chris and Sparkle to check out the kids album they did, too, if they can deal with the irony. They played some of the songs the last time I saw them and everyone enjoyed them a lot, even as grownups.
Yeah, the "spank me" is a bumper sticker as well.
They rock :)

I particularly recommend the video
"Whatever"...

I LOVE the Asylum St. Spankers. They are one of W's and my favorite bands (and the source of the title of my blog, come to consider, from the song "Breathin'")
Sorry I didn't see this post when it was new! (How did I miss the fact that you have a blog? I can be so oblivious sometimes!)
